Montenegrin Electric Enterprise (EPCG) is a national energy company established by the decision about transformation of JEP Elektroprivreda Crne Gore Nikšić on October 16th 1998 for the purpose of performing energy activity. Production, distribution and supply of electricity are the core activities of EPCG. Besides these, activities of EPCG also include the following: electricity trading, distribution network operator, construction and maintenance of electric power facilities, designing and supervision. By carrying out its core activities, EPCG ensures regular and quality supply of the customers at the demanded voltage levels – safe and stable electricity supply to Montenegrin population and economy.
EPCG possesses plants for electricity generation of the total installed capacity of 868MW, whereof 657 MW (76%) refers to hydro power plants Perućica and Piva, while 210 MW (24%) refers to thermal power plant Pljevlja.
In addition to generating units, EPCG owns considerable electricity network of different voltage levels with overhead lines, substations and other facilities, as well as dispersed distribution network reaching all inhabited areas of Montenegro. Development of distribution and transmission network was accompanied by development and improvement of generating units.
EPCG is one of the oldest legal entities in Montenegro and also the only one to perform the activities of productions, transmission and distribution of electricity. EPCG employs a large number of eminent experts from the field of energetics.
Broadcasting Center of Montenegro (RDC) was separated from former PT Montenegro and it was founded as a company by the decision of the Government of Montenegro in 2005. The core activity of RDC is to provide access to electronic communication networks and to provide electronic communication services. The Center provides distribution and transmitting of the program of national public service – RTV Montenegro, renting infrastructure capacities for electronic communication operators, emitters and other users in Montenegro, and provides distribution and transmitting of radio and television programs, as well as interconnection services to all categories of users, via radio relay distribution systems;
RDC has got two transmitting centers (Lovcen and Bjelasica), with permanent specialized teams as the support. Broadcasting system includes 131 locations and involves complex and quality organization. Such system provides coverage of 98% of territory with the signals of Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG1 and RTCG2).
RDC has a modern digital distribution system based on SDH and PDH microwave radio-relay links, which has been operational since mid-2008.
Minimum capacity of SDH links is 1xSTM-1, while the access interface is Gigabit Ethernet, so that this distribution system, in essence, makes a single IP network, while routing and switching are implemented by using Cisco 3560 Layer 3 Switches. The system is designed to connect a large number of transmission sites, distribution of digital signals of TV and radio programs, future digital services (DVB-T and DAB), Internet services, as well as the distribution of other types of data, centralized system of monitoring and remote management of network elements, network capacity needed for current and future needs of RDC, as well as for transferring of a part of capacity of the distribution system to other users, on commercial terms. In addition, the system has the ability to easily expand or increase its capacity.
RDC services users include Telenor, Crnogorski Telekom , M-Tel, Atlas TV, TV Vijesti, TV Pink, Pro TV, TV IN, TV Elmag, Seismological Bureau, Police Administration and many others.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) – The year 2014 is the 345th year since establishment of the University of Zagreb, 95th year of study of electrical engineering and the 58th year of autonomous Faculty of Electrical Engineering. In 1994, the Faculty changed its name becoming the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) reflecting the fact that eminent professionals in electrical engineering but also in computing have been coming from this institution.
The primary mission of the Faculty is to prepare students to perform direct tasks on their workplaces. However, what might be even more important is to accept permanent education as a necessity in a profession that is undergoing dramatic changes. The present research and educational staff comprises more than 140 professors and 230 teaching and research assistants. The Faculty has developed respectable international cooperation with many institutions around the world.
As Croatia’s leading academic and research institution in the field of electrical engineering, computing, and information and communication technology, FER wants to be integrated and competitive in European higher education and research area; it wants to create new forms of knowledge transfer to the economy and to prompt economic and social activities of Croatia.
